焰色烟火配方

Pyrotechnic Colour Formulas

The first systematic application of metal ion flame emission spectroscopy — centuries before Kirchhoff and Bunsen formalized the principle in 1859. Chinese pyrotechnicians empirically discovered that adding different metal salts to gunpowder produced characteristic flame colors, creating the world's first colored fireworks.

Scientific Principle

Flame emission spectroscopy: thermal energy excites metal ions' outer electrons to higher orbitals → return to ground state emits photons at element-specific wavelengths (E = hν = hc/λ). Cu²⁺ → blue-green (510-530 nm); Sr²⁺ → deep red (640-680 nm); Na⁺ → yellow (589 nm, sodium D-line); K⁺ → lilac (400-420 nm); Ba²⁺ → apple green (520-550 nm). This is the identical physical principle behind modern atomic emission spectroscopy (AES), flame photometry, and ICP-OES. Kirchhoff & Bunsen discovered this in 1859 — ~800 years after Song Dynasty firework masters.
